Châteauneuf-du-Pape

Châteauneuf-du-Pape is a beautiful old village surrounded by wine yards covered with pebble stone (galets roulés). The name “the new castle of the pope” originates back from around 1300 when Pope Clement V relocated the papacy to the region. In the village most winemakers have their own shops with “degustation” (free tasting). If you have the opportunity you should really stop here for a day (and a night) and enjoy this fantastic place.
